Wrapped stETH (wstETH) is a version of stETH provided by Lido, a liquid staking protocol for proof-of-stake blockchains. Unlike stETH, which changes daily, wstETH operates like a c-token, representing a proportional share of staked ETH. It ensures consistent ownership without daily balance changes. When unwrapped, users receive their original stETH along with any earnings. This allows continued participation in DeFi without running infrastructure.
You can view, swap, send and receive wstETH tokens directly from your MEW Wallet. To receive your wstETH tokens you can send them to your public wallet address. You can then view them in your MEW Wallet by selecting your wallet and selecting the token from the tokens list. You should see the wstETH token information page. You can send your wstETH tokens in your MEW Wallet by clicking the ‘Send’ button and entering the recipient’s wallet address. To swap your wstETH tokens, you can click the ‘Swap’ button and choose which tokens you want to swap to. However, if the ‘Swap’ button is not active you will need to use a DEX to swap your tokens!
